November was a fairly busy month for the Anderson Lions.
There were four separate vision screenings, two each at Meadow Lane and Prairie schools.
The Peace Poster Contest took place.
Three members attended the Lassen Region Cabinet Meeting at Weaverville.
A fourth member would have attended but she had to take an emergency [sic] trip to Kaui.

A blast from the past
In February 1962 the Anderson Lions hosted a student speaker contest for contestants from Anderson High School.
Gordon Wittman was the winner of that contest and went on to win the zone, region, district, area and multiple district contests.

Then there's this thing about club blogs
If a club expects to get traffic (page views, comments, whatever you want) on its blog, Facebook page, and/or Web page, it should post something on a regular basis and link it to other posts.
That said, we had a visitation from District Governor Larry Marcum.
It was great fun and quite informative.

When it is appropriate
Members should bring a camera ...or at least use a camera phone ...to document a visitation to another club.
They should do it particularly when they are retrieving paraphernalia that has been "borrowed" by the club they are visiting.
Four members, Beverly Fickes, Glen Cunningham, Jim Owens, and Skip O'Brien visited the Palo Cedro Lions Club last Tuesday to pick up the bell.
Unfortunately, the only evidence we have of said visit is our bell.

White Cane Day
We set up outside the door to Safeway in the Anderson Square Shopping Center.
It was fairly quiet at first, but Safeway sells donuts and there IS a Starbucks just inside the door.
All in all it was a pleasant experience for the five Lions who participated...
...except for the drunk who hung around for awhile.
One lady told us a story about Lions providing eye surgery for her brother.

A few of us were at Yreka
The Shasta Region Cabinet Meeting was in the Miners Inn on Saturday and Sunday.
Lions Scott and Melanie Hunter were there for the duration.
Lion Skip O'Brien slipped in, almost unnoticed, on both days.
As mentioned, Skip was almost unnoticed.
