Our other fund raising project

We have just been notified that the materials for ordering calendars for next year have been shipped. As soon as the Anderson Lions finish with the Century Bike Ride, we will be out and about soliciting advertising and selling calendars.

Lions Commemmorative Coin in 2017

As we approach the 100^th anniversary of our organization in 2017, Lions are looking to highlight this milestone. The Sandy Spring Lions Club in Maryland proposed a commemorative U.S. Mint silver dollar as a way to celebrate our centennial. With the sponsorship of Representative Peter Roskam of Illinois, we are one step closer to making the coin a reality after the introduction of the "Lions Clubs International Century of Service Commemorative Coin Act" or HR 2139.

Passage of the legislation depends on accruing 290 House sponsors and 67 Senate sponsors in order to send HR 2139 to the President for his signature into law. We need your help to achieve President Scruggs' goal to confirm 150 co-sponsors by international convention this July!

Take action today!

1. Call/write your U.S. Senators and Representative and ask him/her to co-sponsor HR 2139.

2. Urge Lions in your districts and clubs to call/write their U.S. Senators and Representatives to co-sponsor 2139.

3. Post www.lionsclubs.org/coin on your website and Facebook page to inform followers about this important endeavor ask them to take action.
